¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ has confirmed its status as one of the world’s top universities, placing 60th internationally and 3rd in Australia in a prestigious global ranking.
The 2016-17 – which considers teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income – was released today (22 September).
Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj said ¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ’s consistent high ranking reflected the hard work of the University’s researchers, professional staff, academics, students and industry partners.
“¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ continues to place well among the more than 10,000 universities worldwide, demonstrating our staff and student’s dedication to excellence,” he said.
“It’s especially gratifying to see ¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ maintain its placing at 60th for the second year running, despite continued uncertainty in Australian higher education.
“Results such as this are a testament to the hard work of our academic and professional staff who strive to keep ¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ’s place among the top global universities while facing increased competition from international institutions.
“Having a globally-respected university is important for Australia’s higher education exports – an $18 billion industry.”
The news comes on the back of ¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ’s high placings in . The University placed 55th globally and 2nd in Australia in the announced last month.
¿ì²¥É«ÇéƬ also placed number one in Australia in the , and 51st globally in the QS World Rankings and 52nd in the .
The THE rankings have been by PricewaterhouseCoopers, in respect of the methodological process, calculations and transparency.
